    Distance Casting Swivel

As the name suggests this lead is designed purely for casting long distances. The nose-heavy design makes it very stable indeed and also keeps the lead condensed, giving good hooking efficiency. The lead is the brainchild of Alan Partridge an ‘old school’ angler well known in the higher echelons of carp fishing for his innovative thinking and his long-range casting.

He had ridiculed Danny for years saying, “My leads cast further than yours” so one day Danny bit and said, “Go on then, prove it’. So the two of them went over to a local big pit and Danny cast as far as he could with his original slender and pointed Distance Casting lead, the slack was taken out and an elastic band was fitted tightly around the line before the lead was wound in. Danny’s lead was taken off the lead clip and Alan’s was put on, Danny again gave it the big ‘un and pulled the elastic band straight off the spool plus about 30 yards of line!

To add insult to injury Alan allowed Danny to put his style of lead back on and see if he could hit the elastic, try as he might Danny could not match the distance, so he had to use Alan’s design, which has remained the same to this day! This is without doubt Danny’s favourite style of lead, he says of it, “I love fishing at range in open water and building up a baited area, fishing all three rods only feet apart. The nose-heavy shape of this lead means that it flies straight as an arrow; it just goes where you want it to go. For this type of fishing I couldn’t think of using anything else!’

  • Korda Pronged Marker Leads

    0 out of 5

The sensitivity of the feedback from the pronged lead allows you to identify clear areas in sparse weed to the point where you can pinpoint exactly where the clear spots begin and end.

The original probe lead remains an integral part of our range as it’s ideal for skipping the marker lead through the weed whereas the pronged lead would snarl up quite quickly. The pronged lead is for finding small differences to fine tune how you approach your spot.

It’s not just about fishing weed effectively, the tremors produced by the pronged marker lead are far greater than a standard probe lead helped again by the fact that we purposely make them without a coating which cushions the lead and dampens feedback. Such sensitivity allows an angler to identify the finer differences and smaller details in gravel and silt too! You can now highlight the spots which transition from rough gravel to tiny pea shingle gravel or even from gravel to sand, you’ll instantly feel the difference down the rod. From thin weed, changes in gravel or finding small hard spots in silt which can be otherwise tough to find, this is the lead for you.

The weights available are 2,3 & 4oz.  The lightest one combined with a smaller marker float is perfect for fishing close in for example, in a small bay to avoid disturbing the swim too much. The 4oz lead is great for fishing big waters especially if you’re fishing into the wind or combating crosswinds and the 3oz is a great all rounder for the ‘normal’ fishing conditions an angler is faced with.

    • Mixed pack of 2oz & 3oz OR 3oz & 4oz
    • Uncoated to increase sensitivity
    • Pronged to not only provide the most senstive feedback possible but also retract some of the weed
    • Great casting qualities

  • Korda Pear Swivel

    Pear Swivel

The classic pear lead will cast a very very long way, almost as far as the Distance Casting and it is less affected by cross winds because the shape is very condensed. This means that the Pear lead is suited to most carp fishing situations when fishing anything up to the very limit of your casting ability.
The dumpy shape can be used to your advantage in silt. Try using a very light pear lead say 1oz or 2oz and actually let the lead plug into the silt, this will dramatically increase the resistance to a carp moving away with the rig, so what feels like a light lead in your hand is transformed into a heavy lead in the fishing situation.
Because the lead has a large rounded end it makes ‘feeling’ the lead hit the bottom easier than more slender or pointed shapes. If you are new to this technique this lead will make the job easier.

The pear lead is also ideal in a solid PVA bag because it can be pushed down into one of the corners. This makes the bag nose heavy and so more accurate.

  • Korda Safe Zone Flying Back Leads

    0 out of 5

Korda Flying Backleads take line concelament to a new level! These little weights can be attached and detached from the line without needing to cut your rig off. They feature a recessed plastic insert that ensures that they fly back up your main line on the cast, helping to pin it to the bottom way back from your rig. We produce three different sizes and the lightest will fly much further up the line than the heaviest ones, allowing you to control your line lay.

    PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Fox Kling-Ons have been CAD designed for optimum performance. Both sides of the lead are textured and feature pronounced studs which grip just about any type of bottom. This makes the design ideal for river fishing, holding position on sloping bars and island margins or for positioning rigs at range by boat. The flattened profile prevents rolling and stabilises the lead while the compact centre of gravity enhances the bolt effect of the rig.

Each lead is formed with precision injection moulding to provide a unique profile ‘crispness’ and shape consistency throughout the range. Fitted with an extremely strong and perfectly formed stainless steel loop joined to a unique swivel with an enlarged top eye specifically designed to ensure they work perfectly with safety lead clips. If required the swivel can be removed and the lead attached to the clip via the steel loop without requiring modification.

Available in quarter ounce increments to suit every possible scenario, the Kling-On Swivel Lead is finished in a matt, non-reflective ‘clay brown’ with gravel speckles ensuring it will blend in discreetly with just about bottom.
